Dog parks, do not go....
Dogs that go to dog parks often times are not in control by their owners. Owners oftentimes are not paying attention to the animals and do not understand small behavior cues signaling to a potential problem. It is not possible to know what all disease could have been introduced to the yard or what hazard could be left out there.
Fog parks create stressful situations for animals. It's loud cramped area a dog is forced to be face to face with strange people and other dogs. When dogs get stressed and cornered it's a recipe for agression and possible fights to break out. Most people are in denial of their personal dogs potentially having aggression or behavior problems and will let a dog loose that should never be in a group setting. Bringing your dog to a park frequently where you get into an argument with other dog owners or fights happen between animals shows your dog socialization is negative. When yoir dog sees others behaving badly it teaches him how to intereact negatively.
Dogs need restrictions and to learn a proper way of going before allowed offleash play. You should never expect your dog to interact well with strange dogs instead do safe on leash introductions with responsible people. If you want to let your dog have some freedom use a drop line or go to trail or natural park away from others. When your dog is properly responding offleash and can be controlled let them run in privacy of a open area.
Proper socialization happens on leash in a controlled area never offleash and crazy.
Be safe everyone enjoy company with your own dogs and enhance your bond through training.
I have learned through experience
